Community Dental Outreach & Screening Programs

Beginning January 2026, our department conducted extensive community dental outreach programs across schools, preschools, industries, corporate offices, residential communities, public venues, and special-needs institutions in and around Chennai, focusing on preventive oral healthcare, early diagnosis, and treatment services.

Overall, 59 outreach camps/programs were organized, screening more than 6,800 beneficiaries through regular school, workplace, institutional, and community screening drives. Treatment services were also provided at selected outreach sites.

A large-scale dental outreach program conducted on 19–20 February 2026 in Arani Block covered 21 schools, reaching 1,459 children, of whom 1,227 were screened. Treatment was completed for 203 students, including scaling, fillings, and extractions.

All outreach activities were carried out with the active involvement of interns, postgraduate students, and staff members, reflecting the institution’s strong commitment to community service, preventive dentistry, and accessible oral healthcare for diverse population groups.
