National Doctors Day 2022
Ek Shaam Doctor Ke Naam – Initiative by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
On account of National Doctors Day – 2022, Dept of public Health dentistry, Saveetha Dental College had organized a series of events, as per the guidelines of initiative by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As a tribute to the doctors hard work during the pandemic, 6 eminent public health dentists were selected from various dental institutions of the state and were awarded. Dr.Vinitha Mary, Prof and Head of Thai Moogambigai dental College was awarded the title Best academician, for her relentless efforts in training students. Dr.Kesavan.R from the same institution and Dr.Rajmohan were awarded ‘Best Community Dentist’ for their notable work in organizing outreach and health programs and serving the community during the difficult times. Dr.Shiva Shankar.k and Dr.Divvi Anusha from IGIDHS, Pondy were recognized and awarded for their best innovations and start up respectively. Dr.Indra from KITS university was recognized as a budding researcher for her outstanding contribution in studies pertaining to rural and geriatric oral health.
The second event of the day was ‘rose tribute’, were in all the doctors of the institution were given roses with a personalized wish by the faculties of the department. The third event was an outreach and awareness program arranged in Joy bells school, poonamalle. Students were made aware about the nobel profession and specially its significance during COVID. A drawing competition on same theme was organized for around 150 students and prizes were distributed to encourage them.
Fourth event was a organized to emphasize the importance of doctor patient relationship, a selfie spree was encouraged with all due precautions. Patients were very happy to participate as a token of gratitude for the unparalleled care rendered. Fifth event of the day was a webinar by Dr.L.Mahesh, the speaker highlighted on the Dental practice management principles during COVID 19 crisis. The sixth event was a Dental photography exhibition, arranged in the dental museum of the institution. Photos exhibiting the outreach and health programs conducted were displayed.
