PROF.DR.MURRAY THOMSON
Prof. Thomson, Editor in Chief of Gerontology, has published 420 peer-reviewed papers and significantly contributed to the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study, offering unprecedented insights into oral health from childhood to midlife. He pioneered methods for measuring dry mouth and understanding its causes, especially medication-induced dry mouth. His work on oral-health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) has advanced measurement tools for children and identified key determinants in adults. He has made influential contributions to the oral health of older adults and national oral health surveys in Australasia, conducting impactful cross-national comparisons with global colleagues.
