Department of Public Health Dentistry,Saveetha Dental College, Chennai organised a webinar ‘Role of DPH in Mitigation Efforts during Pandemic’ on 29th August,2021. The webinar was presented by Dr.Anita.M, Professor, Dept of Public Health Dentistry, Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital. The registration was free and the E-invite was circulated among various institutional websites. E- certificates were offered to all the participants. The registration link was added in the invitation.A total of 110 participants attended the webinar.

The main objective of this webinar was to bring together medical, paramedical, dental graduates and postgraduates, researchers and practising clinicians to discuss the SWOC analysis,the global perspective of mitigation efforts and how dental professionals can contribute in reducing the burden of pandemic on health care system along with basic information of managing medical emergencies and cardiac life support training at dental office. The questions of participants were also answered in the live session.

The webinar covered a basic understanding of the fact that it is very essential for the political and professional leaders to bring about radical reforms on the health care delivery system across the nation. A brief session was also given regarding the oral health problems. Oral hygiene maintaining methods like proper brushing techniques, interdental flossing and rinsing were taught.
